live music with Amy and Adams

Amy & Adams began before Amy & Mark Adams-Westin became wife & husband.  In 1993 Amy Westin walked into "The Blue Guitar" (the live concert studio in the basement of Water Music) in Stillwater, Minnesota and into Mark’s life to perform at an open-mic Mark Adams hosted. Amy was the voice for his new song about friend, and Movie Star, Jean Seberg, I’M FLYING It was love at first hear.

Amy got her musical start in her hometown of White Bear Lake, Minnesota.  Mark is a native of Marshalltown, Iowa although life & music took him to Oregon, Colorado, California, and Wisconsin before joining Amy in Minnesota.

For over 2 decades Amy & Adams has entertained & touched folks in Minnesota, the Midwest, and beyond at Restaurants, Coffee Shops, Wine Bars, Wineries, Schools, Churches, Libraries, City Concert Series, Art Fairs, Weddings,  Elder Care Facilities, as well as live on radio & TV.

Amy & Adams ‘ shares an inspiring upbeat Eclectic/FolkRock/ TinPanAlley/BluesGrass musical blend. As well as their own infectious original songs, great tunes from the 1920s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and on, are wrapped in an accompaniment of guitars, ukuleles, mandolin, keyboard, flutes, and stunning harmonies, that will bring a song to your lips and a hop to your step.

Live in concert Amy & Adams is usually a duo, but when we're lucky,  Sister Mary Adams sits in on vocals, harmonica & stand up bass.  SometimesJimmy Finders fills in on bass, vocals & guitar.  We've even been known to call on drummer The Rev. Carl Wergyn.

Amy & Adams' albums (now six) have garnered national & international airplay and critical acclaim.  Here's just a few comments: "It’s a collection of fantastic songs, all done extremely well," "With beautiful harmonies ... they've got a real good thing going..." "as fresh and entertaining as folk music has ever been." "There is a joy that pervades their new CD," "their seamless harmonies and perfect vocal blend is the sign of a great collaboration of hearts and talents." "What a great CD."
